Monitoring and diagnostics (M&D) is one of the most important applications of technology in the utility industry. Advanced and high-tech equipment allows the users to monitor transformer, motors, power quality, and other electrical parameters as well as mechanical characters of their equipment.

Information is key and M&D is the key resource for asset managers and energy users to:

• Prolong the life of the equipment
• Foresee failures
• Diagnose problems in live situations
• Gather important historical data
